What is History (folder)?

History is a built-in folder in Microsoft Internet Explorer that contains shortcuts to Web pages that you have recently browsed. The History folder makes it simple to return to sites that you have recently visited but have not designated as favorites.

By clicking the History button on the Internet Explorer toolbar, you can view the contents of the History folder and revisit any of the links.

You can configure how many days items should be kept in the folder, and you can delete the files manually if desired. Using the offline browsing feature of Internet Explorer, you can browse the History folder while you are disconnected from the Internet.
